This week’s focus is Coaching Conversations
The focus for this week is Coaching Conversations. Being able to have good coaching conversations is a crucial skill for managers because it can help them guide team members to set their own goals, identify their own challenges and come up with their own solutions. Consequently, this can boost a team member’s motivation, improve their confidence and lead to better employee engagement in the team.
So, we will explore coaching conversations as follows.
- Tuesday’s post will be a bite-sized virtual training activity that can be used to run a short coaching conversation-related training session for first-line managers. It is titled – GROW for Coaching Conversations.
- Wednesday’s post will be an introduction to a great book on coaching conversations titled – Developing Coaching Skills by Dietmar Sternad. I will also share a 1-page summary of one lesson from the book.
- Thursday’s post will be a curated video from YouTube on the GROW coaching framework. This framework can provide managers with a structure to have good coaching conversations. I will actually share three videos about the GROW framework.
- Friday’s post will have a tip on virtual training. I attended a brilliant training course on becoming a better virtual facilitator last week and I will share one of the things I learnt.
I really hope you find this week’s posts valuable. Thank you and have a great day.
